A Chinese company is illegally copying our Angles90 grips. They’re using the same grip shape and even the same color for a fraction of our price, just with another brand name! What a great deal and alternative!
It’s one thing to support immoral companies who illegally steal product ideas from young people who risked their money, time, and sweat to develop a patent.
But it’s another thing when the products actually differ in terms of quality and security. After extensive tests, we came up with six characteristics that expose how the copycat product looks and especially feels inferior.
Their surface material is much more slippery than ours. The heavier you go in your workouts, the more this becomes an issue.
Strap gets longer over time
Only a few strap materials on the market keep their original size and length after extensive usage - and the copycat doesn't use them! After only a few workout sessions, the copycat strap gets longer, which makes certain exercises no longer possible.
The strap is already longer to start with:
It is longer than ours by approximately 5cm (2 inches). This decreases your range of motion for lat pulldowns and deadlifts simply too much. Not only that, but the longer straps actually don’t have any advantages.
Security issue 1: The sewn part
As you can see in the picture, they made the sewn part of the strap too long. This pushes the stitching directly into the thin strap slits when you pull the strap from the other side. The extra stress on the sewing results in decreased longevity of the strap (because the sewing is the weakest part of the product).
Security issue 2: Max. weight?
It sounded very suspicious to us that the company states the exact same max resistance like we do (180kg per grip). Why? Not only do we use other materials as stated above, but we also read reviews stating the straps of the copied product snapped.
Overall bad manufacturing
The first picture should say enough...
By the way, we can safely generalize these six comparisons because there is actually only one copycat out there. They just put different brand names on the product.
Last but not least....
Apart from copying our product, they even copy our texts and - no, we are not joking - our pictures displaying our products and our models. Here just a two examples out of many.

"If you have the patent, why don't you stop them?"
Well, we do. However, since they don't really hurt us right now, we’re taking our time with that. After all, the more they sell, the more we will win back later in court.
Finally, please don't be fooled by countless fake reviews (luckily they are easily recognizable). Moreover, don't be fooled by "fake clients" who post the copycat product, but then tag us on social media. (Needless to say, they do it to brag with something they don't possess).
A little hint: If there is white lettering on the strap, it's a fake Angles90 grip.
